#12 Men's Soccer Battles Rochester in Sunday Morning Showdown

CHICAGO -- The 12th-ranked University of Chicago men's soccer team hits the road for the second time this weekend. After playing in Atlanta on Friday, the Maroons fly to New York to battle Rochester. * The Maroons enter the weekend with a 9-1-5 record overall and a 2-0-2 record in UAA play. They have won seven of their last nine games after just two wins in their first six games.
* UChicago is riding a 14-game unbeaten streak, which ranks as the 4th-longest streak in program history. The Maroons have outscored opponents 28-7 in that stretch.
* The Maroons have had multiple 500-minute shutout streaks this season, ranking as the fifth- and sixth-longest streaks in program history.
* William Stewart scored the near-post game-winner in the 56th minute in the pouring rain on Saturday to help lead the Maroons to a 1-0 victory over Case Western Reserve.
* Jadyn Hsieh-Bailey tallied a brace in the 3-2 win over North Park on Wednesday as he curled a free kick around the wall and tapped in the game-winner against the Vikings.
* Edward Wu scored three goals in the first two UAA games this season with a brace against NYU and a goal against CMU.
* Wu became the first player since Danny Mendoza in 2024 to score in three straight matches after his olimpico last week.
* Ali Alamery made 10 saves en route to his first career clean sheet in the 0-0 draw with St. Olaf. His 10 saves are the most by a UChicago goalkeeper since 2012.
* The Maroons have only allowed one a true goal from the run of play since their season opener. Opponents have scored two penalty kicks, two corner kicks, one free kick, and one own goal.
* After their match on Sunday, the Maroons will return to their home field for the final time during the regular season to take on #5 Brandeis.

UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER NOTES: 

* Rochester comes into the weekend with an 8-3-4 record overall and a 2-1-1 record in UAA play.
* The Yellowjackets took down #3 WashU on Friday with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory.
* After trailing 2-1 at halftime, Rochester got goals from Kol Bassuk and Milos Bisenic in the second half to seal the win.
* Milos Bisenci leads the team with 6 goals, 3 assists, and 15 points on the season.
* Following their match with the Maroons, Rochester will travel to Pittsburgh to take on Carnegie Mellon on November 1.

SERIES HISTORY:

* UChicago trails the all-time series 14-18-6 against Rochester.
* The Maroons are riding an 11-game unbeaten streak against the Yellowjackets.
* The teams played to a 0-0 draw last season with the Maroons outshooting Rochester 16-10.
