PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The University of Chicago Maroons battled back from a first-half deficit to defeat Carnegie Mellon 82-68 in a key UAA matchup on Friday night at Highmark Center in Pittsburgh, PA. The victory improves UChicago's record to 16-5 overall and 7-3 in the UAA, while Carnegie Mellon drops to 12-9 and 3-7 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a tight first half, where Carnegie Mellon led 37-33, the Maroons turned up the intensity in the second half. UChicago shot a blistering 54.3% from the field in the second half, including 42.4% from three-point range, to secure the win.
- Thomas Kurowski was the standout performer for UChicago, scoring a team-high 25 points, including 3 three-pointers, while adding 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Eamonn Kenah also had an excellent game, contributing 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting, including 4-of-10 from beyond the arc.
- In the frontcourt, Daniel Cochran grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds to go with his 10 points, showcasing his all-around game. Joe Berry chipped in with 8 points and 9 rebounds, helping UChicago dominate the boards with a 43-32 rebounding advantage.
- The Maroons were also effective in capitalizing on second-chance opportunities, outscoring Carnegie Mellon 19-8 in second-chance points. UChicago's defense was key in limiting the Tartans to just 1-of-10 from three-point range in the second half, stifling their offense when it mattered most.
