Bella Alfaro, who scored 24 points, a second half surge by Carnegie Mellon pushed them to the top.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was a tightly contested affair throughout, with 14 lead changes and six ties.
- Alfaro was a bright spot for UChicago, putting on an impressive display with 7-of-11 shooting, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. She finished with 24 points, three rebounds, and two assists, keeping the Maroons in the hunt. Sophia North also contributed 11 points in the matchup.
- Despite strong efforts from UChicago's bench, including Bri Simpson and Annabelle Spotts, who both added 11 points, the Maroons struggled to find an offensive flow. Chicago's consistent solid defense helped them kept their edge throughout. Â
- With the loss, UChicago drops to 13-8 overall and 3-7 in the UAA. The Maroons will look to regroup and refocus as they continue their UAA campaign.
