NEW YORK - The University of Chicago Maroons battled hard but came up short against the undefeated NYU Violets, losing 80-58 on the road at the John A. Paulson Center in New York. The defeat drops UChicago to 12-7 overall and 2-6 in the UAA, while NYU extends its perfect record to 19-0, 8-0 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- From the outset, it was clear that NYU's potent offense would be a tough challenge for the Maroons. Despite some solid individual efforts, UChicago struggled to find a consistent rhythm. The Maroons were held to just 14 points in the first quarter, and while they showed improvement in the second, they trailed 46-29 at halftime.
- Bella Alfaro had a strong game for UChicago, leading the team with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Chris Sanders also made a significant impact off the bench with 10 points, while Kasi Samuda contributed eight points, and Alexis Clark added seven.
- Despite the scoreline, UChicago showed resilience throughout the game, particularly in the fourth quarter, when they outscored NYU 18-12.
