WALTHAM, Mass. - The University of Chicago women's basketball team took a strong 69-55 victory over Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, on Sunday afternoon to closeout another UAA doubleheader road trip. With the win, UChicago improved to 13-7 overall and 3-6 in the UAA, while Brandeis dropped to 11-9 and 4-5 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was a back-and-forth affair early on, with UChicago leading by just four points at the end of the first quarter. However, the Maroons gained control in the second period, outscoring Brandeis 20-15 to extend their lead to 32-23 at halftime.
- Proving her consistency, Bella Alfaro was a key contributor for UChicago, finishing the game with 15 points, including 6-of-7 from the free-throw line. Sophia North also provided a big spark with 14 points, hitting three three-pointers and adding four rebounds. UChicago's defense was tough throughout, limiting Brandeis to just 39.2% shooting from the field.
- Brandeis made a strong push in the third quarter, narrowing the deficit to 47-38, but the Maroons responded with a dominant fourth quarter. UChicago shot an impressive 92.3% (12-of-13) from the free-throw line in the final frame to seal the win.
- UChicago's bench also played a crucial role, contributing 28 points in the win, with Annabelle Spotts scoring 10 off the bench and Chris Sanders adding eight points.
