CHICAGO - The No.22 ranked University of Chicago Maroons delivered a commanding performance, defeating Carroll (WI) 19-4 at Stagg Field. The Maroons improved their season record to 7-4, while Carroll's record dropped to 6-3.
UChicago wasted no time asserting control, scoring early and often in the first half. By the end of the first quarter, they led 7-0, with goals from Skylar Lienhardt, Lulu Hardy, Peyton McGuire, and Wynne Boggan. The offensive onslaught continued through the second quarter, with the Maroons scoring another five goals to extend their lead to 12-0 at halftime.
Carroll struggled to find a rhythm, unable to put any points on the board in the first three quarters. UChicago's defense was impenetrable, and their quick transitions led to several scoring opportunities. McGuire and Hardy led the offensive charge, while Lienhardt and Boggan also made significant contributions.
The fourth quarter saw some late goals from Carroll, but the Maroons answered with a goal of their own from Rachel Keefe, the first of her career, to cap off the 19-4 victory.
