#24 Women's Lacrosse Rolls Past Hope with 21-9 Victory in Michigan

HOLLAND, Mich. -- The University of Chicago women's lacrosse team picked up their tenth win of the season and fifth consecutive victory as they took down Hope 21-9 on the road.

Evelina Swigart opened the scoring for the Maroons with two goals in the first five minutes of the game, and Jane Chen and Olivia Escoffery doubled the lead to 4-0 early on in the opening period. After back-to-back goals by Hope cut the lead in half, UChicago exploded with five of the final six goals of the period to stretch their lead to 9-3 after one.

In the second period, Hope controlled the first six minutes of play and were able to cut into the UChicago lead with three woman-up goals in the first four minutes, but UChicago would not be held down for long as they scored four straight goals over a five-minute span and took their 13-7 lead into the locker room.

The second half adjustments by Coach Robinson were evident from the get-go in the second 30 minutes as Wynne Boggan scored two goals in the opening three minutes, and Peyton McGuire added a pair of goals just 19 seconds a part as the Maroons stretched their lead to 19-8 at the end of the third period. Two more goals in the final period would cap off the 21-9 victory on the road.

Peyton McGuire led the team with four goals and two assists, and Evelina Swigart added four goals and one assist. Lulu Hardy and Wynne Boggan also added hat tricks to lead UChicago to the victory.

On the defensive side, Jane Chen led the team with three ground ball pickups, and Kali Konstantinakos added two. Grace Harrell and Wynne Boggan also caused a pair of turnovers. In goal, Rachel Keefe finished just shy of 10 saves as she saved 9 of the 18 shots on goal by the Dutch en route to her 51st career win.

With the win, the Maroons improve to 10-4 on the season. The team returns to Stagg Field on Thursday, April 17 as they host the Rhodes College Lynx in their penultimate game of the 2025 regular season.
