CHICAGO -- Sophomore forward Micaela Harms (Corona del Mar, Calif./ Mater Dei) scored off an assist from freshman forward Sarah Kwan (Irvine, Calif./ University) midway through the first half as the 23rd-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team defeated University Athletic Association rival University of Rochester 1-0 Sunday at Stagg Field.
Harms tallied her first goal of the year in the 26th minute for the game's only scoring.
Chicago outshot the Yellowjackets 12-6 for the match, including an 8-4 edge in the second half.
Team Records
Chicago raised its record to 9-5-2 overall and evened its UAA mark at 2-2-2. With its second straight loss, Rochester dropped to 8-7, 2-4.
Notes and Numbers
Senior goalkeeper Emma Gormley (Carmel, Ind./ Carmel) collected three saves to notch her seventh shutout of the year.
The Maroons improved to 5-3-1 at Stagg Field.
Kwan's (pictured) assist was her team-leading fifth of the season.
