LOUIS -- Senior Bryanne Halfhill (Canfield, Ohio/ Canfield) scored 16 of her game-high 19 points in the second half as the second-ranked University of Chicago women's basketball team defeated eighth-ranked Washington (Mo.) University 65-62 in the University Athletic Association opener for both teams Saturday.

- Chicago won its 29th straight regular season game and its 14th on the road. The Maroons also extended their UAA winning streak to 15 games.
- Saturday's game marked the Maroons' first of the year against a top-25 opponent.
- Chicago overcame a halftime deficit for the third time this season.
