Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The University of Chicago women's soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a 2-1 loss at Washington University-St. Louis on Saturday.
The Maroons are now 12-6-0 overall, 4-3-0 in the UAA. The Bears (16-1-1 overall) finished 6-0-1 in conference games and claimed the UAA Championship.
WashU scored late in the first half on a deflected shot in the 41st minute and then made it 2-0 with a chip shot to the far post in the 74th minute.
The Maroons cut the deficit in the 79th minute as freshman Julia Ozello scored left footed off an assist by Brigette Kragie. But Chicago could not find the equalizer in the closing minutes.
The Bears led the match in shots (11-9) and corner kicks (7-5). Chicago goalie Jacinda Reid made five saves and allowed both goals to take the loss.
