Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- University of Rochester exploited its advantage in the post to defeat the University of Chicago women's basketball team 71-49 on Friday.
The Maroons fell to 3-9 overall, 0-2 in the UAA. The Yellowjackets improved to 9-4 overall, 1-1 in conference action.
The hosts got off to a 10-1 start in the opening minutes and led wire-to-wire. Rochester kept the momentum rolling, scoring the final 11 points of the half to lead 45-15 at the break. Points in the paint (20-4) and points off turnovers (16-3) were big factors in Rochester's favor. UChicago was held to 23 percent shooting in the half while turning the ball over 10 times.
The Yellowjackets led by at least 22 points throughout the second half to finish off the win. The Maroons were outrebounded 50-35 in the game, including 19-8 on the offensive glass.
