Box Score CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's soccer wrapped up its regular season schedule with a 2-0 loss to No. 1-ranked Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday.
The Maroons fell to 11-4-3 overall and 3-2-2 in UAA action. The Bears (17-1-0) finished with an unblemished 7-0-0 conference record.
Saturday was Senior Day for the nine UChicago women's soccer seniors - Katie Dana, Elizabeth Doman, Micaela Harms, Beatrice Hobson, Natalia Jovanovic, Angela LaScala-Gruenewald, Claire Mackevicius, Camy Pearson and Kelsey Peterson. The group has compiled a four-year record of 44-20-8 and were honored individually prior to the start of the game.
Shots were even at 8-8 in the first half, but Washington-St. Louis took a 1-0 lead into halftime. Anna Zambricki chipped in a shot from 20 yards out at the 23:04 mark and the Bears extended the lead at 60:30 on Becky Berels' rebound goal.
Washington-St. Louis ended up with 21 shots compared to 11 shots by UChicago. The Maroons led the corner kicks category 5-2. LaScala-Gruenewald started the game and made one save in 13:31 of action. Junior goalkeeper Jacinda Reid (5-3-3) played the final 76:29, collecting six saves with two goals allowed.
