Box Score CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The University of Chicago women's basketball team lost at No. 6-ranked Thomas More College 91-68 on Thursday.
The Maroons dropped to 5-5 while the Saints kept their perfect record intact at 9-0.
UChicago hung close for much of the first half. A layup by junior guard Morgan Donovan gave the Maroons their first lead of the game at 12-11. However, Thomas More took over from there and closed on a 19-5 run. The hosts went into the break with a 36-21 lead and limited UChicago to 22.6 percent shooting from the field. The Saints also led rebounds 27-20. Freshman forward Britta Nordstrom paced the Maroons with five points and Donovan added four points.
In the second half, Thomas More's Sydney Moss took over and scored 10-straight points to push the lead to 48-32. The Saints kept adding on to the lead past 30 points to put the game out of reach. UChicago scored 29 of the final 41 points over the last seven minutes to account for the final score.
Moss scored 18 points in the second half, while Maroons junior guard Claire Devaney nearly matched her with 14 points. Thomas More won the rebounding battle 42-39 and forced 18 UChicago turnovers compared to 10 turnovers by the Saints.
