ORLANDO, Fla. -- The University of Chicago women's tennis team kicked off the first round of the UAA Championships by defeating Case Western Reserve University 8-1 on Thursday.

The No. 7-ranked Maroons improved to 15-4 while the No. 22-ranked Spartans fell to 11-8.

UChicago started the day strong with three victories in doubles to gain the advantage, and then locked up five of six singles matches to clinch the team win. Megan Tang, Helen Sdvizkhov, Linden Li and Kelsey McGillis all picked up victories in both singles and doubles play.
