Box Score CLEVELAND, Ohio – Stout defense ruled the day as the No. 13-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie at Case Western Reserve University on Sunday.
The Maroons moved their record to 11-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the UAA. The Spartans ran their record to 8-3-3, 1-2-1 UAA.
UChicago recorded five of the six shots taken in the first half of play. In the 63rd minute, freshman forward Mia Calamari's corner kick found junior midfielder Nicole Mullen, whose shot on goal was saved on the end line. Both defenses held strong throughout and after 110 minutes, the game ended in a stalemate.
Senior goalkeepers Mallory Morse and Jacinda Reid (4-2-1) combined for three saves in the match while splitting time between the pipes. The Maroons held a 13-7 shot advantage, with six shots on goal. UChicago also earned eight corner kicks while Case had four.
