Just like the men's game before it, the women's matchup featured plenty of blowing rain, snow and hail. UChicago took the wind advantage in the first half and recorded 12 of its 13 shots on the game. The Maroons once again wielded the corner kick to their advantage by scoring a goal in the 25th minute. Freshman forward Mia Calamari's corner went to junior midfielder Nicole Mullen, who headed the ball in for her fifth goal. Calamari's 11th assist ties a school record for most assists in a season.
The Maroons added to their lead in the 41st minute. Freshman forward Caroline Olivero took a shot, gathered her own rebound and then scored her first collegiate goal.
The second half featured only three shots combined between the two teams. UChicago kept NYU's offense in check and won the shots battle 13-3. Corner kicks were 7-1 in favor of the Maroons. Senior goalkeepers Mallory Morse (8-1-0) and Jacinda Reid combined to shutout the Violets. They split duties in the first and second halves while totaling one save apiece.
