HOLLAND, Mich. – The University of Chicago women's tennis team concluded its three-match road trip to Michigan with wins over Hope College and Case Western Reserve University on Saturday.

The No. 8-ranked Maroons ran their record to 5-0 on the season.  

First on the docket was No. 28-ranked Hope (1-3 record). With the two teams splitting matches at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, the matchup at No. 1 took on additional importance. Finally, the first-year duo of Perene Wang and Claudia Ng prevailed 8-6 to give their team the 2-1 lead.

In singles play, the Flying Dutch captured both of the top spots. However, UChicago held sway in the rest of the lineup, taking the remaining Nos. 3-6 in straight sets.

Then the Maroons had an afternoon encounter with a fellow conference school in No. 29-ranked Case Western Reserve (2-2 record). This time, UChicago swept all three doubles positions by scores of 8-4, 8-4 and 8-1.

Singles brought closer competition. The Spartans earned its lone point at No. 1 singles while pushing for a first-set tiebreak at No. 2 and a third-set super tiebreak at No. 5. Once again, UChicago's depth of talent proved up to the task as the Maroons collected the final five wins.

Four different players went undefeated on the day between singles and doubles – Wang, Ng, sophomore Nicole Semenov and first-year Brigitte Wu.
