MILWAUKEE – The University of Chicago women's tennis team pulled out a 4-3 road win at NAIA opponent Cardinal Stritch University on Saturday afternoon.
The No. 8-ranked Maroons kept their unblemished record intact at 6-0. The Wolves fell to 0-3.
Playing with NAIA scoring rules, doubles counted as a single point in the team scoring. The Maroons came out ahead in that category with wins at No. 2 and No. 3.
Singles was split 3-3 on each side. Sophomore Lauren Park bounced back with a dominating showing at No. 1, only dropping a single game (6-1, 6-0). First-year Claudia Ng nearly matched her with a 6-2, 6-0 rout at No. 4. First-year Perene Wang provided the clinching point at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-4 victory.
