Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y. – The University of Chicago women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 road decision at New York University on Friday.
The Maroons fell to 7-8-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the University Athletic Association (UAA). The Violets improved to 7-3-5 (1-3-1 UAA).
NYU jumped out to a 2-0 lead early after scoring in the 10th and 13th minutes. UChicago halved the deficit with senior Hannah Rittenhouse's eighth goal of the season in the 64th minute. However, the Violets held onto their lead for the remaining game time.
The hosts led shots 8-6 while corner kicks were even at 3-3. Sophomore goalkeeper Sophie Pilarski took the loss with three saves and two goals allowed.
