Women's Soccer Battles to 1-1 Draw with WashU on Senior Day

CHICAGO – University of Chicago's women's soccer program battled to a 1-1 draw with regionally-ranked WashU on Saturday in its final contest of the 2022 season. 

The Maroons honored their 2022 senior class prior to the match, recognizing Skye Davis, Bella Mahoney, Ruthie Mitchell, Annie Mitchell and Hannah Rittenhouse for their commitment and contributions to the program.

WashU came out with an early goal, scoring an unassisted tally in the third minute. Both sides traded chances as the half progressed on a windy day on the Stagg Field grass, but the Maroons trailed 1-0 at the break.

UChicago found a breakthrough late in the game as Davis scored on a pass from Maggie Jameson and Ruthie Mitchell in the 83rd minute to level the action at 1-all. The Maroons wrap up their 2022 campaign with a 7-8-3 record and 0-4-3 mark in UAA play.
