CHICAGO – The University of Chicago women's tennis team controlled Sunday's matchup from start to finish, beating NAIA opponent Cardinal Stritch University 7-0.
The Maroons improved to 3-1 while the Wolves fell to 0-4.
UChicago started off by winning all three doubles matches (8-3, 8-1, 8-3) to secure the doubles points. The Maroons proceeded to claim all six singles bouts in straight sets, surrendering one game or fewer in five of the matches. Junior Claudia Ng and first-year Nicole Geller earned 6-0, 6-0 shutouts at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. First-year Shianna Guo, first-year Miranda Yuan and sophomore Brianna Liu defeated their opponents by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores.
