HOLLAND, Mich. – The University of Chicago's women's tennis team went on the road and swept Hope College 9-0 on Saturday.
The Maroons (4-1 record) stretched their win streak to four. The Flying Dutch fell to 3-3.
UChicago's doubles teams only surrendered two games combined over three matches. The No. 3 team of senior Annika Pandey and first-year Nicole Geller shut out their opposition 8-0. The No. 1 duo of first-years Sylwia Mikos and Shianna Guo and the No. 2 tandem of senior Eugenia Lee and junior Claudia Ng took down their opponents by the same margin, 8-1.
In singles, Pandey posted a double goose egg at No. 6 with an unblemished 6-0, 6-0 victory. Mikos, Guo and Ng only allowed one game each in their matches at spots one through three, respectively.
"It was great to see the team firing on all cylinders today," Head Coach Jay Tee said. "One of the team's strengths so far this season has been its focus, and the scores today reflect that. Tomorrow will be another opportunity to fight together as team against a UAA foe."
