MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – The University of Chicago baseball team split a Sunday doubleheader at Cornell College and broke out with 21 runs in game two.

The Maroons ran their season record to 18-10 overall and 13-5 in the Midwest Conference (MWC). The Rams moved to 12-20 on the year (7-10 MWC).

The hosts built a 6-0 lead after two innings, which included a grand slam. However, the Maroons were able to chip away and tie the game up at 6-6 by the middle of the fifth inning.

Sophomore Dominick Angellotti would tie the game up with his RBI double down the left field line.

UChicago's final run of the game came courtesy of Weekley's RBI single to right field in the sixth inning. However, Cornell retook the lead with two in the sixth and added two more in the eighth to stave off the Maroons.
