NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – The University of Chicago women's tennis team proved unstoppable in singles action in an 8-1 triumph over Pomona-Pitzer at the ITA Division III National Team Indoor Championship on Saturday.
The No. 2-ranked Maroons (7-0 record) advance to the ITA Indoor finals for the second-straight year to play against No. 1-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The No. 4-ranked Sagehens fell to 3-3.
UChicago went up 2-1 early thanks to doubles wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Singles was a one-sided affair as the Maroons snagged all six matches, including five in straight sets.
Multiple winners on the day included Sylwia Mikos, Shianna Guo and Nicole Geller. Brooke Pedersen and Claudia Ng were also victorious in singles and Lauren Khou teamed with Geller in doubles.
