ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – University of Chicago's ninth-ranked men's tennis program was defeated by seventh-ranked Emory University 5-0 in the third-place match of the 2023 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship. 

The Maroons suffered three defeats in doubles and were unable to get back on track in singles as Emory's third and fourth singles competitors claimed wins to secure the result. UChicago will wait to see if it earns a selection to the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships, of which the field will be released next week. 

UChicago's defeats in doubles were by scores of 8-5, 8-7 (7-3) and 8-3. The Maroon losses in singles were by scores of 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) and 6-1, 6-1. 

The Maroons complete their regular season with a record of 15-5 and as the fourth-place team in the UAA Championship.
