KENOSHA, Wis. -- Carthage College scored twice in the game's final six minutes, including the winning tally with :31 left in the match, en route to a 2-1 win over the University of Chicago men's soccer team Tuesday evening.
Junior midfielder Steven Chase (Cumberland, Maine/ Greely) (pictured) gave the Maroons (5-3-2) the lead with his second goal of the season in the 61st minute.
The lead held until the 85th minute when Greg Pignataro tallied off an assist from Cale Brown.
With the game apparently headed to overtime, Carthage's Michael Dombrowski scored unassisted at the 89:29 mark.
Shots were even at 4-4 in the first half before Carthage (7-4-1) notched a 10-5 edge in the second period.
Carthage goalkeeper Milan Tijanic made three saves, while freshman netminder Elek Lane (Eau Claire, Wis./ Memorial) collected five for the Maroons.
Chicago continues its four-game road stretch Sunday when it travels to Pittsburgh to face University Athletic Association rival Carnegie Mellon University.
