Maroons men's soccer edges Case 1-0

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A late goal proved to be the difference as the University of Chicago men's soccer team came away with 1-0 victory at Case Western Reserve University on Friday.

The Maroons (8-3-4 overall) ran their conference record to 2-2-1. The Spartans (3-12-1 overall) remained winless in the UAA at 0-5-0.

The first half did not have much offense, with Chicago managing five shots and Case taking two shots. The game stayed knotted at zero until the 77:13 mark, when a scrum in front of the goal ended with Terrell White booting in his first goal of the season.

Chicago's defense maintained the lead for the final 13 minutes to net the shutout. Goalie David Cohen (5-2-3) made one save for a clean sheet. Out of eight wins this season, Chicago has tallied seven shutouts defensively.

The Maroons ended up outshooting the Spartans 12-8 with a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.
