Box Score KENOSHA, Wis. -- The University of Chicago women's basketball team lost 68-46 at Carthage College on Sunday.
UChicago (1-2 record) took its biggest lead in the early minutes at 10-4. Carthage (3-1 record) came back to tie the game at 12-12 and the Lady Reds seized control by scoring the final 15 points of the half, spanning four-and-a-half minutes. Carthage tallied a trio of three-pointers in that run to go up 35-21 at halftime.
Carthage shot 43 percent versus 30 percent by UChicago in the half. The Maroons also turned the ball over 11 times. Julie Muguira was most productive player for the visitors with five points and seven rebounds.
The Lady Reds maintained its lead throughout the second half as the advantage did not dip below 13 points.
The Maroons were held to 27.8 percent shooting from the field overall (15 of 54) and committed 19 turnovers. UChicago owned a 44-35 rebounding edge, including 17 offensive boards.
