Maroon men's soccer ties with Case 0-0

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The University of Chicago men's soccer team posted their fourth-straight shutout in a 0-0 tie with Case Western Reserve University on Sunday.

The Maroons (8-4-2 overall, 2-0-2 UAA) have yet to give up a goal in conference play this season. The Spartans are now 8-4-3 overall and 2-1-1 in league play.

The visitors struck 22 shots in the match compared to 14 by the home team. Case's goalkeeper Calvin Boyle made 13 saves, and UChicago freshman goalie Hill Bonin also submitted a clean sheet with seven saves. Bonin (6-1-2) has not allowed a goal in the last 445 minutes of game time.

The Maroons came very close to ending the game at 99:09, late in the first overtime. But sophomore forward Brenton Desai's shot hit the post and the score stayed knotted at zero. Junior midfielder Jorge Bilbao led the team with seven shots off the bench, including four on goal.
