ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The University of Chicago women's tennis team was defeated by Emory University 9-0 in the semifinals of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Saturday.
The No. 12-ranked Maroons (10-9) will next face Washington University-St. Louis in the third-place match on Sunday. The No. 2-ranked Eagles (22-2) advance to the final versus Carnegie Mellon University.
Emory came into the day as the No. 1 seed and UChicago was the No. 4 seed. The Eagles won the trio of doubles matches and then swept singles for the victory.
