ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The University of Chicago women's tennis team lost to Emory University 8-1 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship semifinals on Saturday.
The No. 16-ranked Maroons dropped to 10-5. The No. 1-ranked Eagles improved to 22-4.
The eight-team conference tournament featured Emory as the No. 1 seed and UChicago as the No. 4 seed. The Maroons picked up a win at No. 1 doubles when senior Stephanie Lee and junior Tiffany Chen triumphed by an 8-3 margin. Emory went on to take the remaining eight matches to move on to the UAA final.
UChicago will next take on No. 9-ranked Carnegie Mellon University in the UAA third-place match on Sunday morning.
