CHICAGO – In the second dual meet of the season, the University of Chicago swimming and diving teams maintained their dominant form with team victories against Carthage College on Saturday.
The final scores saw UChicago's men win 196-94 while the Maroon women were victorious 233.5-66.5.
Out of 32 total events, the host Maroons won 15 on the women's side and 14 on the men's side.
UChicago's women produced three individual multi-event winners. First-year Morgan Simon won the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyles, while fellow rookie Yunfan Dong snagged the 100-yard and 200-yard backstrokes. Junior Hadley Ackerman topped the 200-yard IM and 200-yard butterfly races.
On the men's half, there were five athletes who picked up two victories each. First-year Andrew Chen swept the diving boards (one-meter and three-meter), and first-year Arthur Kiselnikov was the fastest in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly. Senior Reona Yamaguchi doubled up in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke, as did fellow senior Taye Baldinazzo (100-yard and 200-yard freestyle). Junior Keda Song was first in the 200-yard IM and 1,000-yard freestyle.
