Box Score

PITTSBURGH – Shooting struggles by the University of Chicago men's basketball team resulted in a 71-62 defeat at the hands of Carnegie Mellon University on Friday night.

CMU led early 8-2 and 17-10. However, UChicago began to find its footing and soon tied the score up at 21-21. By halftime, the game was knotted at 28-28. First-year forward Bryce Hopkins helped the cause with 10 first-half points.

The home team would not be denied, however. CMU rallied back to tie at 45-45, then retook the lead at 53-52. A 16-2 run by the home team staked the Tartans to a 65-54 advantage that proved too large to overcome.
