Box Score 2 WALTHAM, Mass. – The University of Chicago volleyball team registered a pair of 3-0 victories over Case Western Reserve University and Carnegie Mellon University at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin #2 on Sunday.
The Maroons improved to 4-1 in the UAA and 10-5 overall on the season.

The Maroons found their groove as the first match went on, increasing their hitting percentage in each set from .129 to .282 to .325. The service line was also a distinct advantage as UChicago served up 10 aces, including a career-high seven by sophomore setter Maya Patel. The three-set sweep featured set scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-21.
Senior Temilade Adekoya led the way with a season-high 14 kills while adding nine digs. Sophomore Christine Jurgens posted eight kills, a .444 hitting percentage and eight digs. Junior Ellie Alden racked up nine kills, a .571 hitting percentage and three blocks. Senior Audra Berg finished with seven kills and three blocks.
Patel also contributed 36 assists and seven digs. First-year libero Julia Craig collected 12 digs defensively.
UChicago 3, Carnegie Mellon 0
UChicago's defense shut down the Tartans completely in the following match. CMU was limited to a .042 hitting percentage while the Maroons hit a comfortable .253. Service aces were another strong category for the squad with nine total. Berg accounted for six of the aces – a new career high. UChicago earned the straight-sets victory 25-12, 25-22 and 25-14.
First-year Emma Lotts spiked nine kills while swinging at a .421 rate. Adekoya put up eight kills and 10 digs. Patel dished out 28 assists with seven digs. Craig finished with 10 digs.
