CHICAGO – After a tightly-contested first half, the University of Chicago women's soccer team found its stride and utilized a late scoring barrage to down Calvin University 6-0 on Saturday.

The No. 10-ranked Maroons (6-0 record) have now tallied 38 goals on the season while surrendering none. The Knights dropped to 4-2.

Calvin's physicality slowed UChicago down significantly in the opening 45 minutes. By halftime, the Knights held a 4-3 lead in shots. However, the Maroons possessed a 1-0 lead thanks to senior Nicole Kaspi's strike in the 25th minute to the bottom right corner. Fellow senior Sara Salvino assisted on the play.

Once the second half got rolling, the hosts rediscovered their offensive form and began to pepper the visitors with chances. Then in the 65th minute, junior Annie Mitchell made a run on goal that ended with a scoring touch by sophomore Maggie Jameson from just outside the six-yard box.

With the 2-0 advantage established, the snowball effect kicked in as UChicago scored four more times between the 75th and 87th minutes. Senior Adriana Shutler smoked a free kick from about 20 yards out to make it 3-0. Then four minutes later, junior Skye Davis found the back of the net with a helper from Jameson. The teammates returned the favor just a minute later with Davis setting up Jameson's second goal of the day from just inside the 18-yard box. First-year Stella El-Fishawy closed out the proceedings with the day's sixth goal, assisted by Davis.

UChicago outshot Calvin 22-4, with a 3-2 corner kick edge.

Senior goalkeeper Miranda Malone improved to 6-0 and made one save in 74 minutes. She was then relieved by first-year Sophie Pilarski for the remainder of regulation.
