Box Score BRONX, N.Y. – In a historic matchup between head coaches, UChicago's top-ranked men's soccer program battled to a 0-0 draw on the road at New York University on Friday afternoon.
It was the first-ever meeting between two NCAA men's soccer programs which both have women at the helm - UChicago's Julianne Sitch and NYU's Kim Wyant. UChicago (14-0-1, 4-0-1 UAA) remains undefeated, but ended its 14-match winning streak.
Neither side registered a shot on target in the opening 45 minutes as both teams gained their footing in the opening half. The second half was full of excitement as the Maroons registered five shots on goal while NYU had two on target. The two squads combined for 10 shots, seven saves, seven corners and 18 fouls in the final period of play.
Will Boyes earned the clean sheet in goal, stopping two shots in the match. Kameron Bloye had a team-high three shots, two on target. Tanner Baldwin, Lyndon Hu and Naz Kabbani registered UChicago's remaining three shots on goal.
The Maroons will play their final UAA road contest on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. ET / 10 a.m. CT at Brandeis.
