CHICAGO – The University of Chicago swimming & diving teams handily defeated conference rival Washington University – St. Louis in a home dual meet at Myers-McLoraine Pool on Saturday afternoon.
The No. 5-ranked women were victorious 211-87 and the No. 6-ranked men won 204-94.
On the women's side, UChicago captured 13 of the 16 events. Annabel Olivo swept the sprint freestyles, taking the 50-yard in 24.17 and the 100-yard in 52.20. Alicia Soosai similarly grabbed both of the breaststroke races – she went 1:05.93 in the 100-yard and 2:24.67 in the 200-yard. The Maroons triumphed in the 200-yard medley relay (1:46.46) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:36.77), with Filippa Kolokotsa and Grace Schwieters both swimming legs on those relays.
The Maroon men won 12 of 16 events. Arthur Kiselnikov took first in both the 100 free (46.36) and 200 free (1:42.42). Jesse Ssengonzi was the victor in both butterfly races, swimming 49.37 in the 100-yard and 1:51.94 in the 200-yard. Kiselnikov swam anchor leg and Jason Starbuck was the second leg on both off the winning 200 medley relay (1:31.33) and 200 freestyle relay (1:23.22).
