Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. – University of Chicago's first-ranked men's soccer program defeated Brandeis College 3-1 on the road on Sunday in University Athletic Association (UAA) action.
The Maroons bounced back from their first draw of the 2022 campaign by scoring two goals in the opening six minutes. Lyndon Hu scored an unassisted tally in the fourth minute before Robbie Pino slotted in a pass from Tanner Baldwin to double UChicago's lead.
UChicago continued to push for a third, but took the 2-0 advantage into the halftime break. The Judges were able to strike for a goal against the run of play in the 70th minute, pulling back within one. Ryan Shea converted on an assist from Naz Kabbani in the 82nd to secure the 3-1 result.
In total, the Maroons racked up 22 shots and 13 on target. Aiden Guthro made 10 saves for Brandeis. The Judges registered just one shot on goal as Will Boyes earned the win, playing the complete 90 minutes.
UChicago has one final regular season contest remaining, a meeting with WashU on Saturday, November 5 at 11 a.m. CT. A victory would ensure the UAA title for the Maroons.
