Box Score CHICAGO – University of Chicago's men's basketball team held off Edgewood College with an 85-72 win at home on Sunday afternoon inside the Ratner Athletics Center.
Neither team made a three-pointer in the first half, but UChicago clung to a three-point advantage at the break, 35-32. Tied at 52-all with 9:51 remaining, the Maroons used a 14-3 run to take a significant hold on the contest. UChicago then kept the Eagles at bay down the stretch, claiming the 13-point victory, its second-straight at home.
Thomas Kurowski led the scoring effort with 20 points, adding seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. Elliot Paschal chipped in 19 with five assists and four steals. Bryce Hopkins returned to the lineup and finished with 10 points, adding three assists and two blocks.
Alec Bryan had nine points, making three triples off the bench. As a team, the Maroons made 28-of-41 free throw attempts. Edgewood only had 10 made free throws on 16 attempts.
UChicago takes on Illinois Tech on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. CT on the road.
