Box Score CHICAGO – University of Chicago's women's volleyball program swept Illinois Wesleyan on Tuesday evening in non-conference action.
The Maroons (3-2 record) dispatched IWU 25-13, 25-13 and 25-15, respectively, to earn their second sweep of the season. Ella Mao paced a well-rounded attack with eight kills, hitting .333. Maggie McInerney, Emma Lotts and Cami Cox each had six kills or more in support.
Maddie Ryan and Maya Patel combined for 29 assists. Sally North registered her first kill of the season, which proved to be the final point of the match. Julia Craig anchored the defensive effort with 15 digs and added three assists.
The Maroons swung at an efficient .292 clip while the defense stuffed IWU to the tune of nine total blocks. The Titans totaled more errors (24) than kills (16) in the match to finish with a -.080 team hitting percentage.
UChicago will face off with Whitworth and Transylvania as it opens its weekend in Lexington, Ky. on Friday, Sept. 9.
