Box Score CHICAGO – University of Chicago's men's basketball program suffered a 63-62 defeat to No. 25 WashU on Saturday in its final contest of the 2022-23 season.
Saturday's game doubled as Senior Day for the Maroons, whom honored the 2023 class of Skyler Twyman, Alec Bryan and Bryce Hopkins pregame. UChicago held a six-point lead with 1:31 left, but the Bears scored the final seven points to come away with a one-point win.
Hopkins and Eamonn Kenah paced the scoring with 16 points each. Jackson Piotrowski was also in double-digits with 10 points in 22 minutes off the bench. UChicago produced a strong defensive effort, holding WashU to just 42.4 percent shooting from the field and forcing 19 Bear turnovers. WashU held a big rebounding advantage at 41-24.
The Maroons concluded their season at 10-15 overall and 3-11 in UAA play.
