CHICAGO – University of Chicago's men's basketball program cruised to an 88-72 victory over No. 15 Rochester at home on Sunday in University Athletic Association (UAA) play.

The Maroons took a lead around the midway point of the first half and put on a dominant performance from there, upsetting a ranked-Yellowjacket squad in a one-sided 16-point victory. 

Jackson Piotrowski was a spark for UChicago off the bench and finished with 19 points in 20 minutes to lead the scoring effort. Arrish Bhandal added 16 points and four rebounds. Fellow starters Bryce Hopkins, Joe Berry and Thomas Kurowski also all scored in double-figures. 

As a team, the Maroons dominated the paint with 52 points and won the rebounding battle 43-25. UChicago shot 57.8 percent from the field and an efficient 47.1 percent from distance. The Maroons led from the midway point of the first half onward, leading by as much as 25 late in the second half.

The Maroons take on NYU and Brandeis on Feb. 10 and Feb. 12, respectively, to wrap up their UAA road slate.
