Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. -- The University of Chicago men's soccer team closed out its weekend road trip with a 3-0 loss at Brandeis University on Sunday.
The Maroons fell to 9-5-2 overall and 3-3-0 in UAA action. The Judges improved to 13-4-1 and 2-3-1 in conference.
Brandeis scored its first goal at 21:50 of the first half when Tudor Livadaru smacked a shot off the post and in. About 11 minutes later, Tyler Savonen had his initial shot saved but then deposited the rebound into the net to make it 2-0. The halftime stats were even at four shots apiece, while the Judges led corner kicks 2-0.
Savonen scored his second goal of the game at 57:45 on a one-timer to close out the scoring.
UChicago sophomore goalkeeper Brett Wiesen (8-3-2) collected two saves with three goals allowed. The Maroons led shots 11-9 while the Judges held the corner kicks edge 5-1.
