BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's soccer team was shut out by Illinois Wesleyan University 1-0 on Wednesday.

The Maroons dropped to 3-2-0 while the Titans improved to 5-2-1.

The first half played out pretty evenly, with UChicago taking five shots with two corner kicks and IWU taking four shots with three corner kicks. The home team broke the scoreless tie in the 43rd minute with a goal from the top of the box to the far post.

That goal proved to be the only one of the game as the Titans kept the Maroons off the scoreboard. UChicago ended up with a 9-5 shot edge and corner kicks were tied at four apiece. Sophomore goalie David Cohen (0-1-0) took the loss, making two saves with one goal allowed in 90 minutes between the pipes.
