Bob Carrigan is one of only six wrestlers in UChicago history with multiple All-American awards. At the NCAA Division III Championships, he placed seventh at 126 pounds in 1988 and fifth at 134 pounds in 1989. He was also a University Athletic Association (UAA) champion both of those years in the first seasons of official UAA competition. As a two-time team captain, Carrigan also contributed to UChicago wrestling's first UAA team title in 1989. In his two All-American seasons, he posted a combined 41-18 record.
