J. Kyle Anderson lettered in baseball from 1926-28 and went on to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He then served as head baseball coach at Chicago from 1934-71. During his tenure, he helped organize the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and coached the U.S. team in the 1959 Pan American Games. In 1971, Anderson was elected to the ABCA Hall of Fame.
