Hall of Fame
Tord Alden owned the title of UChicago's fastest swimmer for a two-decade span. His stellar senior campaign saw him set new school records in the men's 50-yard freestyle (21.20) and 100-yard freestyle (46.22). His 50-yard freestyle time remained atop the program's all-time list for 20 years, while his 100 and 200 free records held that same distinction for 14 and 13 years, respectively. Alden was the 1989 University Athletic Association (UAA) champion in both the 50 and 100 free, and he went on to qualify individually for the NCAA Division III Championships. Tord and his brother Kris were UChicago's first UAA individual champions in men's swimming.
