Dennis Ball starred for the Maroon men's soccer team for three years from 1971-73 and became the school's all-time scoring leader across all three categories. He scored 49 goals, distributed 22 assists and tallied 120 points. Ball held the career goals and points records for 45 years, and the assists record for 28 years. Ball's 1971 season remains the most prolific in program history - he notched 23 goals with five assists for a total of 51 points. His best individual scoring performances came against Northwestern University and Triton College, whom he burned for five goals in each game – a school record. During Ball's time on the team, UChicago men's soccer compiled its best three-year win total ever with 21 victories. That mark was eventually eclipsed in 1996.
