Paul Russell played quarterback for Head Coach Amos Alonzo Stagg and helped lead the Maroons to their fifth Big Ten conference title in 1913 with a perfect 7-0 record. He was a team captain in 1914 and earned All-Big Ten honors three times from 1913-15. During those three seasons, Chicago posted a cumulative record of 16-4-1 (.786 winning percentage).
