Petra (Wade) Estep excelled in the pitching circle for UChicago softball from 2004-07. Estep was an indomitable presence in the rotation as she broke the school records for wins (51), innings pitched (504.1) and pitching appearances (94) in a career. She also ranks fourth in both career strikeouts (463) and career ERA (1.62). Estep carried the Maroons to the NCAA postseason in 2006, pitching 192 out of a possible 233 innings while posting a school-record 19 victories and a 1.46 ERA. She was a two-time All-Region honoree and received the 2007 Dudley Medal. UChicago tallied a .680 winning percentage and reached the NCAA tournament three times in her four years.
